G-I-N NA Membership
Purpose of G-I-N North America and benefits of joining.
What is the purpose of G-I-N North America?
In 2011 the Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) established G-I-N North America (NA) as a regional community to support collaboration among diverse groups, societies, and organizations in defining best practices for guideline development, implementation, adaptation, and dissemination. Other objectives of the community are to:
- Provide a network for North American guideline users, developers, and other stakeholders to form partnerships and discuss regional guideline issues
- Enhance and promote relationships between G-I-N and the North American guideline community, including an annual North American satellite conference
- Coordinate guideline activities with other regional health quality initiatives
How are community activities or topics identified?
Members of the G-I-N NA Community are encouraged to submit ideas, topics, or specific clinical questions for consideration by the broader membership. Prioritization of activities is undertaken by the steering group.
What are the benefits of joining?
- Regional and international collaboration with people who have a common interest in clinical practice guideline development, implementation, adaptation, and dissemination
- Access to a sounding board for feedback on concerns, issues, or obstacles
- Ability to share best practices and to network with other G-I-N groups and communities
- Access to the world’s largest guideline library, with over 7,000 entries
- Ability to promote your group in the G-I-N newsletter and on the G-I-N website
Must I become a G-I-N member to join?
Yes, you must be a member for active participation in G-I-N NA. You can, however, subscribe to our mailing list as a non-member to get acquainted with our activities, which we hope will convince you to become an active member. G-I-N membership confers significant benefits that include access to resources, working groups (including G-I-N NA), development tools, a newsletter, the guideline library, and a members-only discussion forum for G-I-N NA. Full members can interact and network with other members of G-I-N NA and the international G‑I‑N community to exchange ideas, receive advice, and avoid duplicating efforts.
How will we share our knowledge and expertise?
Through an annual conference (December 2012), satellite events with the main G-I-N conference (2012), and other activities that may include toolkits, position papers, web-based courses, and participation in events/committees of member organizations.
How can I get involved?
Please contact the G-I-N NA Community coordinator, Magali Remy-Stockinger at eo@g-i-n.net.
