G-I-N at the Global Evidence Summit 2017

G-I-N is looking forward to being part of the first ‘Global Evidence Summit' that will be taking place in Cape Town, South Africa from 13 - 16 September 2017.

This conference will deliver a varied programme of workshops, oral presentations and plenaries for our members to particpate in, as well as a fantastic opportunity for networking with an even wider audience than normal.

Updating Working Group

Aid Knowledge Working Group

The Aid Knowledge Working Group have organised a special session together with Cochrane. The session is titled "Global evidence, local needs: Lessons from practical philosophy about using different knowledge" and will take place on Wednesday 13 September 2017 from 16:00 to 17:30 in the Roof Terrace Room. G-I-N Africa

Over the last year G-I-N Africa has been able to do amazing and outstanding work in hypertension guidelines in Africa.  they have carried out an AGREE evaluation on these guidelines with interesting results which have opened up new avenues for improvement for the hypertension guidelines in Africa. The AGREE II CPG Evaluation can be found here and the Workshop Proposal for Hypertension CPGs for Africa can be found here. This repositions G-I-N Africa Community as a leader in evidence based guidance in Africa.  

These results will be shared at the GES  during their regional meeting on Friday 15th September 2017 from 7:30am to 8:45am in meeting room 2.44-2.45. The meeting Agenda can be found here.

There are multiple presentations from DynaMed Plus/EBSCO Health (G-I-N member) – all of which are highly relevant to guideline development, updating, dissemination and implementation - details can be found here.

College of American Pathologists

The College of American Pathologists, (CAP), is presenting a poster "Measuring the impact of a laboratory practice guideline on immunohistochemical assay validation: Results from multiple modalities" on Saturday 16 September 2017 - 12:30 to 14:00. Further information can be found here.

Regional representatives networking session

This session is an opportunity for regional representatives from the Summit partners and other organizations to meet and network. The meeting area will be divided so that you can network by region. There will also be a large map for you to add your contact details to. 

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 13 September 2017, 13:00 - 14:00 in Exhibition Halls 1&2.
