The Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) is an international not-for-profit association of organisations and individuals involved in clinical practice guidelines. G-I-N is formally constituted as a Scottish Guarantee Company under Company Number SC243691 and recognised as a Scottish Charity under Scottish Charity Number SCO347047 with its Registered Office at J. & H. Mitchell W.S., 51 Atholl Road, Pitlochry, Perthshire PH16 5BY, Scotland.

Purpose and Background

This website is an important component of G-I-N's overall goal to improve the quality of health care by promoting systematic development of clinical practice guidelines and their application into practice, through supporting international collaboration.

The cost of running and maintaining the website is fully funded by the annual membership fees of the G-I-N members.

The website's content is monitored and edited by the Website content/Editorial steering group that includes the Webmaster, Inga König, AEZQ (DE) and the Executive Officer Magali Remy-Stockinger, NEHL (NO).

Part of the G-I-N´s website content is available to the general public, part is password-protected and for members only. The public sections provide general information about the G-I-N organisation, provide details of its member organisations and on how to become a member, list news and events/activities and provide links to other related websites. The member sections provide a database of guideline programmes developed by G-I-N members and networking opportunities.

  • Physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals and provider organisations
  • Health plans, health systems, health care organisations, hospitals, and integrated health care delivery systems
  • Medical specialty and professional societies
  • Researchers
  • National, regional and local government health care policymakers
  • Consumers

Any non-health professionals (e.g., patients/consumers) accessing this site should understand that the information presented is intended and designed for the use of the expert audiences previously identified.
