International Guidelines Library

The International Guidelines Library contains more than 6,700 (by March 2010) guidelines, evidence reports and related documents, developed or endorsed by G-I-N member organisations.

In addition to the features available in the previous website (such as the search based on MeSH), the new G-I-N website integrates additional features directly and indirectly related to your searches.

You can now save your searches, combine previous searches, add retrieved information to your clipboard, export the references toward EndNote or RefMan, notification of new information directly related to your search and more.

Please let us know if you feel that something is missing in the tool we are providing and/or if you have any ideas for further improvements.

Note that currently only G-I-N members can search in the International Guideline Library. If you wish to become a G-I-N member please click here.

Automatic "AND"

By default, if you enter a string of words in the search criteria, the "and" operator is used. For example:

heart disease africa

would find any content containing all of those words.

"OR"

To search for content which contains either of your search terms, use the "OR" operator. Example:

asthma OR depression

would return results that contained either asthma or depression.

"NOT"

To make combinations of words required and exclude words, use the "NOT" operator. The hyphen acts as the "NOT" operator. For example,

hiv africa -children

would return results that contained both HIV and Africa, but not children.
