G-I-N website - Issue 5

Are you getting the most from the new G-I-N website? Here is the fifth part of a series of articles to help familiarise you with the features available: Documents "in development" and/or "planned" and additional information in the guideline library.

Documents "in development" and/or "planned"

Some of you may not know it but the guideline library does not only include published documents. It also allow the inclusion and the retrieval of information on documents „in development“ or „planned“.

Adding documents with this status is easy. When you add a document under your organisation in the guideline library you only have to select the relevant publication status from the list of choices.

Publication Status

When searching the library documents with all status are presented – unless you deliberately reduced your search by selected only or more oft he publication status within the advanced search form.

Tips: Do not forget that you can order your search results by using the arrows next to each column title

Additional information in the guideline library

With the development of GINDER (G-I-N Data Extraction Resource) we have added some new features in the guideline library:

  • The possibility to enter the PICO - Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcomes – related to your document.

PICO fields

  • The possibility add key questions related to your document

Key Questions

These features will help you gathering useful information about documents in the library. They are also essential for GINDER as summaries entered will all be linked to one or more key question thus further facilitating reducing duplication of effort.
