Welcome to the March 2013 edition of enGINe, where we give you the latest update on our San Francisco 2013 conference, share some recent publications with you, as well as giving you the updates from around the network. EnGINe is your opportunity to showcase your work, events and any publications you are particularly proud of – please use it to share information with your colleagues from around the world and highlight any collaboration or networking opportunities. The G-I-N Chair, Amir Qaseem, was involved in an effort started by the Council of Medical Specialty Societies in the US regarding standards for guidelines. This council represents thirtynine societies with an aggregate membership of 700,000 US physicians. He co-authored these standards and they are attached. Guideline Implementability Tools (GItools). We surveyed international guideline developers, implementers, and researchers between July and September 2012, to establish criteria by which to select and assess GItools for inclusion in an online directory. Read more
